What is a capsule wardrobe?

A capsule wardrobe is a compilation of clothing that never runs out of style! This goes back to the 1970s and the phrase is made popular by Susie Faux, owner of “Wardrobe”, a clothing boutique in London.

Clothing items such as skirts, pants, jackets, coats can be interchangeable and used with accessories to produce a fabulous wardrobe yourself for many years! To build one of these “clothing capsules”, takes about seven decent pieces of clothes to start with.

I don’t like thrift stores!

I used to be that person until I went to a local thrift store and was amazed at what people donate after only a couple of uses. I bought a Calvin Klein peacoat that was originally priced at USD 200.00 and I found it for $45.00! It was barely used and I still have it to this day!

Of course, you need patience and you must be hungry for the hunt to find the clothes that make you feel good and look good. Browse the racks, you will be surprised at what great finds there are to be discovered by you!

Get creative!

You may even have these items in your closet right now! Do some Spring Cleaning and you will be amazed at what you have forgotten about. You may even find some money that you forgot in one of your old jacket pockets! If you can sew, even better! Reinvent a blouse, jacket, slacks, anything! The possibilities are endless!

You really can budget-friendly work attire and still look stunning! Even if you're working remotely it’s always good to look good and feel comfortable. Good luck and happy hunting!
